Key Advantages

Mirror-Like Gloss

Polishing heads achieve 80–90 GU gloss level — a true mirror surface that amplifies light and creates a sense of luxury.

Marble-Look Perfection

Polishing enhances the visual depth of marble designs — veining appears more vivid and three-dimensional than on matt tiles.

Light Amplifying

PGVT tiles reflect artificial and natural light, making spaces appear brighter and larger — ideal for interiors with limited natural light.

Large Format Available

Available up to 1200×1800mm for grand, slab-like installations in hotel lobbies, luxury villas, and commercial showrooms.

Nano Coating Option

Optional nano-coating provides an invisible protective layer that resists stains, scratches, and chemical spills.

Rectified Precision

Mechanically cut edges allow 1.5mm grout joints for a seamless, continuous floor that looks like a single slab.

The PGVT Polishing Process: How We Achieve Mirror-Like Gloss

PGVT tiles begin as standard GVT tiles — a vitrified body with a decorative glaze applied before firing. After the kiln process, the tiles undergo a multi-stage mechanical polishing process using progressively finer abrasive heads. This removes the micro-roughness from the glaze surface, creating a flat, highly reflective finish with a gloss level exceeding 80 GU (Gloss Units).

The result is a surface that mirrors its surroundings, dramatically enhancing the visual depth of marble-look and stone-look designs. The polishing process also improves the tactile smoothness of the tile, making it pleasant underfoot and easy to clean. Livenza Granito PGVT tiles are calibrated and rectified after polishing, ensuring perfectly flat, precisely sized tiles for seamless installation.

Design Collections & Applications

Our PGVT range features some of our most sought-after design collections. The Marble Look Series includes faithful reproductions of Statuario, Calacatta Gold, Bianco Carrara, Nero Marquina, and Emperador Dark — each capturing the unique veining and colour gradients of the original stone with stunning accuracy. The Abstract Series offers contemporary geometric and fluid patterns for modern interiors.

PGVT tiles are ideal for: luxury residential living rooms and master bedrooms, hotel lobbies and corridors, corporate reception areas, high-end retail showrooms, and feature walls in restaurants and hospitality spaces. Their reflective surface maximises the impact of both natural daylight and artificial lighting design.

Care & Maintenance of PGVT Tiles

While PGVT tiles are easy to maintain, their polished surface requires some care to preserve the gloss finish. Use a pH-neutral floor cleaner and a soft mop — avoid abrasive scrubbers or acidic cleaners that can dull the polish. Place felt pads under furniture legs to prevent scratching. In high-traffic areas, use entrance mats to reduce grit abrasion. With proper care, Livenza Granito PGVT tiles retain their showroom-quality gloss for many years.

Buying & Installation Tips

Never use PGVT polished tiles on wet floor areas (bathrooms, kitchens) — the smooth surface is slippery when wet.
Use PGVT on living room floors, bedroom floors, hotel lobbies, and feature walls where slip risk is low.
Clean polished tiles with a microfibre mop and pH-neutral cleaner — avoid abrasive pads that scratch the gloss.
Apply a nano-sealer after installation to protect the polished surface and make cleaning easier.
In high-traffic areas, consider a lappato (semi-polished) finish as a practical compromise between gloss and grip.
Pair PGVT floor tiles with GVT matt wall tiles for a balanced look — all-polished surfaces can feel clinical.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our PGVT tiles achieve a gloss level of 80–90 GU (Gloss Units), measured using a standard 60° gloss meter. This places them in the high-gloss category, producing a clear mirror-like reflection that enhances the visual depth of marble and stone designs.

Polished PGVT tiles have a lower coefficient of friction than matt tiles, which can make them slippery when wet. We recommend using PGVT tiles in dry areas such as living rooms, bedrooms, and hotel lobbies. For wet areas like bathrooms, we suggest our matt or anti-slip GVT variants. Anti-slip mats can also be used in wet zones where PGVT is installed.

PGVT tiles have a surface hardness of Mohs 6–7, making them resistant to everyday scratching from foot traffic. However, dragging heavy furniture or sharp objects can cause surface marks. We recommend using furniture pads and avoiding abrasive cleaning tools to maintain the polished finish.

Livenza Granito PGVT tiles are available in 600x1200mm, 800x1600mm, and 1200x1800mm. Larger formats create a more seamless, slab-like appearance with fewer grout lines, which is particularly effective with marble-look designs.

Yes. PGVT tiles are excellent for feature walls, bathroom walls, and kitchen backsplashes. Their reflective surface creates a dramatic visual effect on vertical surfaces. For wall installation, ensure proper adhesive coverage and use appropriate tile adhesive rated for large-format tiles.

Most stains can be removed with a pH-neutral cleaner and a soft cloth. For stubborn stains like grease or wine, use a mild alkaline cleaner. Avoid bleach, acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon juice), or abrasive pads as these can damage the polished surface. Always rinse thoroughly after cleaning.
